IFMA — the International Facility Management Association — is the world’s largest and most widely recognized association for facility management professionals. The IFMA Foundation is a non-profit organization that works to promote education for the facility management profession around the world, helping individuals with career development and advancement.
As a trustee, Hogland will serve alongside global FM leaders working collectively to expand the Foundation’s Global Workforce Initiative addressing economy, equity and environment and working to increase the sustainability-focused workforce in facility management. The board also continues to drive forward the Foundation’s scholarship program and workforce development programs providing upward mobility in underserved communities.
“I am extremely humbled and grateful to be invited to this opportunity. For me, it’s about giving something back,” Hogland said.
Hogland has a special interest in helping to develop skilled trade workers. He started his career as a welder’s apprentice, which inspired launching ESFM’s Apprenticeship Program in 2022.
“Seeing our people grow and develop as facilities management professionals means a lot to me,” Hogland said. “IFMA has been a great partner to ESFM and an invaluable resource for our associates. I look forward to seeing what we can do together to help others grow.”
Committed to investing in future FM leaders, ESFM proudly sponsors two IFMA Foundation scholarships, awarded to students enrolled in FM or FM-related programs. Scholarship recipients receive a cash award and fully subsidized World Workplace travel and registration.
ESFM is also a Gold-level Corporate Sustaining Partner of IFMA, serving as an industry thought leader, advocate for the advancement of industry professionals and an active professional partner in shaping the future of IFM. ESFM subject matter experts regularly share articles and case studies through IFMA channels, and ESFM leaders will present an Education Session at IFMA’s World Workplace Conference & Expo on Sept. 29, 2023.
