Building Operating Management: How to Handle a Workplace Accident
ESFM National Director of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) Rusti Dyals was recently interviewed by Building Operating Management, sharing her expertise on how to manage incidents that may draw attention from OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).
Employers must have procedures in place to prevent workplace accidents, but also a plan if they occur. In these instances, it’s important to investigate, whether or not OSHA plans to.
“Gather as much information as you can to determine long-term solutions to prevent reoccurrence of the incident,” Dyals says. “It’s all about ensuring a safe environment and protecting the employees. That’s what’s important.”
