ESFM Achieves Renewal of CIMS-GB with Honors Certification
ESFM recently earned its second renewal of the Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) Green Building with Honors certification from ISSA, the worldwide cleaning association. This distinction places the company among an elite group of cleaning providers that exceed the industry’s highest benchmarks for quality, safety and environmental responsibility.
The CIMS-GB certification is awarded to organizations that meet rigorous, third-party verified standards across service delivery, workforce development, safety and sustainable practices. Earning the “with Honors” designation signals performance beyond baseline compliance.
Now in its second renewal cycle, the recognition reflects sustained operational discipline rather than a one-time achievement.
“Achieving CIMS-GB re-certification is a meaningful accomplishment because it reflects independent, third-party validation of how ESFM operates every day,” said Lawyna Holland-Parish, VP of Standards and Practices. “For our clients, it provides confidence that our janitorial practices are not only consistent and reliable but also aligned with the highest sustainability and quality standards in the industry. Exceeding the standard and earning honors is a testament to our teams’ commitment to continuous improvement.”
Central to the certification is eClean, ESFM’s proprietary six-commitment janitorial program. The framework integrates hospitality and healthcare best practices with technology, sustainability standards, workforce training and cost transparency to cleaning in the corporate environment. It is designed to deliver consistent results across diverse client environments while reducing environmental impact.
ESFM reinforces those standards through its employee engagement app, which supports ongoing training, peer-to-peer best practice sharing and direct access to subject matter experts. The company’s communication approach previously earned the George Graves Award for Facility Management Achievement from the International Facility Management Association (IFMA).
“The CIMS-GB with Honors certification is a testament to the hard work that our teams put in to ensure that our clients and guests are receiving janitorial services that exceed the industry expectation,” said Kalli Folk, National Director of Cleaning and Hospitality Programs. “The certification ensures that we are people first, quality–focused, and hospitality–driven, and that provides our clients peace of mind that they are partnering with the best organization in the janitorial business.”
For clients operating in complex, high-performance environments, the certification offers measurable assurance: ESFM’s standards are independently verified and consistently executed.
