Services Appreciation Week and World FM Day put spotlight on associates

Services Appreciation Week, which took place May 5-11, 2024 across Compass Group USA, was filled with celebratory events to honor the associates who create memorable, engaging experiences through facilities services every day. It’s an important week dedicated specifically to acknowledging the extraordinary contributions of our associates.

“We have the most dedicated and hardworking people representing ESFM in this industry,” ESFM President David Hogland said. “I hope our associates are reminded how appreciated they are every day. Our associates are the reason our clients trust us as partners in creating elevated workplace experiences.”

Throughout the week, ESFM site teams celebrated with food, games and recognition.

The celebratory week coincided with World FM Day on May 8 — an international celebration of the behind-the-scenes heroes of the built environment. ESFM Vice President, Center of Excellence Shaun Levenson shared wisdom with the facility management community as a contributor to a blog post from the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) as well as a video that was featured on IFMA’s World FM Day landing page.

“Facilities Management is so much more than the assets and infrastructure we touch and see. People are the third dimension,” Levenson said. “Our ability to impact the daily experiences of occupants and visitors — to provide solutions and services that enhance and optimize user health, business productivity, and workplace satisfaction — is more so the art as much as the science of FM. This is what I get out of bed for every day. This is what inspires me.”
