ESFM Recognized for Decarbonization Efforts

L'Oreal sourcing leaders present Compass leaders with a recognition plaque for decarbonization efforts.

Compass Group has earned L’Oréal North America’s 2023 “Most Advanced Vendor in Decarbonization” award, underscoring the company’s leadership in sustainability and dedication to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

This recognition highlights Compass’s commitment to innovative sustainable practices and its top score among L’Oréal North America’s partners in CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), a global non-profit promoting environmental transparency.

Of all L’Oréal North America vendor partners, Compass Group has the top CDP score.

“We’re thrilled to recognize Compass as L’Oréal’s Most Advanced Supplier in Decarbonization in North America,” Head of Indirect Sourcing for L’Oréal North America, Catherine McComber, said. “Their significant contributions and commitments – including their approach to achieving net-zero emissions, with ambitious Scope 1, 2, and 3 reduction targets, demonstrate a true leadership position in sustainable practices.”

ESFM is part of the Compass One team serving L’Oréal. Compass One provides facility management services, foodservice and vending services.

Contributing to Compass Group’s sustainability targets, ESFM identifies innovative solutions to reduce costs and environmental impact. For example, ESFM uses a floor cleaning system at L’Oréal that requires significantly less water and cleaning products than other commonly used systems. ESFM also manages a centralized trash program and maintains an efficient shipping processes in the mailroom to reduce packaging waste.
